Projects
One of the primary initiatives of the GDPA has been to raise funds to enhance or build dedicated pickleball courts in the Gandy Dancer Trail area.
Court Resurfacing - Siren, WI
We are thrilled to announce that our project to create 3 new dedicated pickleball courts in Siren was completed in mid-August, 2024! The project included re-surfacing the existing courts to create 3 dedicated pickleball courts. The additional multi-use court allows for basketball and pickleball striping. With help from members, businesses, grants and other donations, the GDPA has contributed $33,000 towards the project. A $20,000 grant from the Bernick Family Foundation was a critical catalyst that kick-started the project. THANK YOU all for your membership fees, donations and support that have helped make this possible!
Resurfacing and Permanent Nets - Webster, WI
In July, 2025, we completed the court resurfacing and installation of new, dedicated pickleball nets at our location in Webster, WI! We partnered with the Village of Webster, as well as the Webster Chamber of Commerce and Lions Club to convert our temporary courts into 2 dedicated pickleball courts with permanent nets. GDPA was able to contribute more than $17,000 towards the initiative. A $10,000 matching grant from the Curt and Darcy Riess Family Foundation provided critical funding for the project. THANK YOU all for your membership fees, donations and support that have helped make this possible!
