Projects

One of the primary initiatives of the GDPA is to raise funds to enhance or build dedicated pickleball courts in the Gandy Dancer Trail area.

Court Resurfacing - Siren, WI

We are very excited to confirm that our project to create 3 new dedicated pickleball courts in Siren is quickly moving forward.  High-level designs are complete, contractors have been selected and funding has been secured.  The project is expected to start in late May, with a target completion around the beginning of July.  The project includes re-surfacing the existing courts to include tennis and basketball, but also create 3 dedicated pickleball courts. One additional multi-use court would allow for tennis and pickleball striping. See below for an initial drawing. With help from members, businesses, grants and other donations, the GDPA has contributed $33,000 towards the project, which has an estimated price tag around $70,000.  A $20,000 grant from the Bernick Family Foundation was a critical catalyst that made this project possible. THANK YOU all for your membership fees and donations that have helped make this possible!  We will keep you posted on the progress of this exciting project over the next few months, and hope to see you all at the new courts in Siren later this year.
